South Brent's ancient 'Beating the Bounds’ ceremony takes place in in two halves over a 7-year cycle – the Outer/Moorland/Northern bounds and the Inner/Southern/Diptford bounds. The event was last held in October 2016 and had been due in 2020, but was postponed due to Covid. This year the Outer (moorland) bounds will be beaten with beating of the Inner (southern) bounds to be arranged in a following year.
