Ashburton Community Folk Orchestra led by award winning, Community Musician, David Faulkner on Thursday mornings in Ashburton Community Arts Centre.. Ashburton Community Folk Orchestra have been getting together and playing since about 2020. The 30 plus strong group of musicians play music from Dartmoor, the SouthWest, Europe and beyond! From Step Dance tunes to beautiful waltzes, airs, toe tapping jigs, intriguing Swedish polskas and Balkan Kopanitsas. All played in arrangements, in harmony and with enthusiasm. “Make a big band, make some music, have some fun!” - Play music and develop music skills & learning by ear; play in harmony; scores and sound files provided.
