SSB’s composting site: Following long-planned essential repairs to the compost bays and ground surface in October, the site has now reopened. Adjacent the South West Water site on Exeter Road is open on Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm both to leave garden waste, and to buy compost. Bring your garden waste to the Marsh. We still need MORE green waste e.g. grass cuttings, dead flowers etc., and LESS wood! Please don’t bring stumps, vines, bamboo, Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam, food/kitchen waste, cooked or uncooked e.g. unwanted fruit and vegetables, peelings, left-overs. Three vehicles are allowed on site at one time plus maximum of two waiting in the entrance layby (No parking on the main road is permitted while waiting for entry). Limited help is available from volunteers to unload your garden waste or carry bags of compost to your car. If you collect compost, please place £1 per 10kg bag donation in the box. Full Information on the project can be seen at: www.ssb.org.uk/projects/the-marsh-community-compost-and-re-use-centre/.
