Love Food, Avoid Waste - Free Workshop from 4-6pm in Ashburton Town Hall. Learn how to create a tasty meal from those leftover bits and pieces and take home a main course supper. This is a FREE fun hands-on practical workshop for adults to prepare and a cook a budget friendly supper dish (2 portions) that they can take home to eat. Using typical leftover ingredients and no hassle cooking. Beginners welcome. You'll learn how to prepare vegetables safely, how to minimise cooking time and maximise using up leftovers. Lots of tips, tricks, and resources during and after the workshop. You'll need to bring an apron or a clean large shirt to cover your clothes, a clean tea towel, two medium size saucepans with lids, and two heat-safe containers with lids big enough to take two portions of your supper home. We'll have some knives for you to use, however, if you have a favourite, please bring it. The workshop will be led by Karin Jordan, who was the Project Worker for SSB's Community Food Project.
