·            ‘THE GIFT’: Creative Writing and Book Making workshop with Lucy Pearce (Creative Writing) and Gaynor Williams (Bookbinder), from 10am – 1pm at St Petroc’s Church Room, South Brent. ‘The Gift’ is our chosen seed for writing, inspired by the poetry of Hafiz: “Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, You owe me. Look what happens with a love like that, It lights up the whole sky.” Lucy will explore and guide your writing and Gaynor will show you how to make a book using Dartmoor sheep felt following the sewing of a text block. The felt cover will house the text block. It will be up to you whether you choose to incorporate your writing into the text block. Your outcomes will be: a piece or several pieces of writing; Sewing examples, and one multi-section felt-covered book.
