South Brent Refugee Support Network meeting at 7.30pm in the Aune Room at the Old School Community Centre. South Brent Refugee Support Network is a forum held on the second Tuesday of alternate months and is open to anyone interested in finding out more about supporting refugees locally and globally, discussing issues, sharing ideas, fund raising or planning local events in response to the current refugee situation. All voices and ideas welcome - do come and join us!  -       British Red Cross in Plymouth make up ‘Welcome boxes’ - food needed includes: Basmati Rice; tinned tomatoes; red kidney and butter beans; oil; potatoes; onions; salt and spices.

 -       also needed are: Sanitary towels; Toothbrushes; Toothpaste; Deodorants; Body wash; Towels; Tissues; Hand cream; Women’s winter boots (sizes 6/7/8/9) Gloves and hats; Scarves for both men and women; Body lotion; Baby toiletries; Children small toys; Note pads; Snacks (items in bold are the most important)

 -       Clothing can be taken to ‘Laurel Bank’ on Totnes Road from where it is collected weekly to for the British Red Cross in Plymouth. (esp. warm clothing and winter boots for both women and men) Please call Caroline first on 0792 6078189.

 -       Food and hygiene products can always be taken to Happy Apple in Totnes.

 SBRSN also organises and supports various other local refugee related events including, a film on Sunday 2 February (see above) and Devon Afrobeat Collective gig on 29 February (see above).
