Discover Sharpham Heritage Day: at Sharpham House near Ashprington TQ9 7UT. Find out about Sharpham's history, focussing on the links between Sharpham and the beautiful River Dart. We will be discussing the connection between the landscape and the water, and how the River Dart has shaped the history of Sharpham. Join us for a packed day of talks, tours, music, poetry and food in the majestic 18th Palladian villa overlooking the River Dart. The day includes a tour of the Grade 1-listed house and gardens, talks and a chance to sample Sharpham's cheese over a delicious lunch. Optional river walk. Speakers:

-       Dr Tom Greeves, Cultural environmentalist, archaeologist, co-founder of the Dartmoor Society and Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group, who has written extensively about Dartmoor.

-       Jill Drysdale, former nurse and social worker, currently archivist and researcher for Totnes Museum Archives.

-       Gail Ham Chair of the Dartmouth History Research Group, who after a career in the Ministry of Defense and consultant is currently researching life in Dartmouth at the time of the Mayflower and Speedwell; 18th century privateering and the fallen of the First and Second World Wars.

A keen gardener and writer, who leads weekly garden tours at Greenway and has recently completed histories of Greenway’s holiday cottages and Lower Greenway Farm.
