U3A Open Day – U3A groups showcase their activities. “At our open day we will are inviting you to see us at the Watermark. Open to all those who are retired or no longer in full time employment, our U3A offers great opportunities to meet like-minded people and get involved with a variety of different activities. We now have over 470 members involved in some 45 groups covering 34 subjects. Whilst some are out and about on walks or looking at Dartmoor Industrial Archaeology, Local History or Natural History, others are meeting indoors to enjoy Music, playing Ukulele, Art, Card games, Etymology and Discussion to name just a few. Science & Technology and Geology meet mostly indoors, but also arrange some visits. Members of the different groups will be there to tell you about how our U3A works and what each group does. We are always open to new subject ideas when there are people willing to get a new group underway. We look forward to meeting everyone on the day.”
