Dido and Aeneas - Brent Singers Summer concert in St. Mary’s Church, Totnes at 7.30pm.
Dido and Aeneas is a tragic opera by Henry Purcell which was first performed in about the year 1689.
That performance was for a school in Chelsea where girls studied singing, dancing and acting.
Brent Singers performance is singing only and will be conducted by their director of music Philip Arkwright.
Soloists will be Denise Kehoe (Dido),
Heloise West (Belinda)
Tim Mirfin (Aeneas).
The performance will be accompanied by Brent Singers Chamber Orchestra.
Free entry with a retiring collection.
Brent Singers next concert will be a Medieval Christmas Concert on Saturday 9 December at 7.30pm in St Petroc's Church
