· The Good Lie (2014) at 7.30pm in the Old School Community Centre. Directed by Philippe Falardeau, written by Margaret Nagle and starring Reese Witherspoon.
A heartfelt account of four Sudanese orphans Theo (Femi Oguns), his brothers Mamere (Arnold Oceng); Jeremiah, (Ger Duany), Paul (Emanual Jal) and their sister, Abital (Kuoth Wiel) who with other survivors flee to a refugee camp in Kenya after their village in Sudan is destroyed and their parents massacred by Northern militia.
Thirteen years later, the brothers arrive as displaced adults in Kansas City, Missouri and, with the emotional baggage of their past still haunting them, employment agency worker Carrie Davis (Reese Witherspoon) endeavours to help them rebuild their shattered lives and adjust to an alien, 20th-century culture.
Being shown in advance of tomorrow's Refugee Breakfast Café; see Refugee Support Group events.
