Breakfast Café in the Old School Centre from 9.30am -12.00pm organised by Abby Leete, a South Brent resident who will be going to Zimbabwe under the under the auspices of 'Restless Development'. I
n Zimbabwe 52% of the population are under 24. This demographic is most at risk of contracting HIV as well as being most affected by high levels of unemployment. Volunteers work in communities to scale up livelihoods for vulnerable young people, as well as taking part in campaigning activities in these communities with a focus on raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health issues with the wider community.
The money raised at the Breakfast Café will go to the International Citizen Service consortium which is led by VSO in partnership with organisations such as Restless Development to support the volunteering programme for 18-25 year olds to improve the lives of young people worldwide.
Expect the usual good breakfast, fine South Brent company as well as live music from local musicians.
