Bridge of Spies PG
German-American historical drama thriller.
Directed by Steven Spielberg.
Based on the 1960 U-2 incident during the Cold War, the film tells the story of lawyer James B. Donovan (Tom Hanks), who is brought in to defend Rudolf Abel
(Mark Rylance), a captive Soviet KGB spy held by the United States.
Donovan is then recruited by the CIA to negotiate the release of Francis Gary Powers (Austin Stowell), the pilot whose U-2 spy
plane was shot down over the Soviet Union in exchange for Abel.
Also starring Amy Ryan as Mary Donovan and Alan Alda as Thomas Watters Jr., Donovan's associate.
Run by the Village Hall Committee, raising funds for South Brent Village Hall.
Tickets on the door: £4 adult, child £2; doors open at 7.00pm for 7.30pm start.
