Dartington Playgoers summer production will be 'The Seagull' by Anton Chekhov Directed by Patrick Cooper.

Chekhov’s 'comedy of delusions' about love and fame and literature, is one of the great plays of world theatre.

It follows the relationships of a disparate group of people around the charming, manipulative actress Irina Arkadina, on a run-down country estate.

By turns funny and moving, it still feels strikingly modern because of the richness of its sub-text, its powerful characterisation, and its themes of celebrity, exploitation and lost dreams.
