The UK General Election takes place on 7th May 2015 - Polling Stations will be open from 7.00am to 10.00 pm.
General election: Totnes Constituency (currently Conservative held): Parliamentary candidates are: Julian Brazil (Lib-Dem); Gill Coombs (Green); Justin Haque (UKIP); Nicky Williams: (Labour); Sarah Wollaston (Conservative).
Local District Council election for South Hams District Council (for the last council there were 40 seats: Conservative: 30; Lib-Dem: 4; Green: 3; Independent: 2; Labour 1. For the new council, following the Electoral Review last year there will be 31 seats.) Two district councillors are to be elected for South Brent. The South Brent candidates are: Rosy Adams: (Labour); Kim Patricia Gray: (Labour); Tony Khul (Green); Peter Courteney Smerdon (Conservative); Robert Cyril Steer (Conservative). Councillor Cathie Pannell is standing down from the District Council after 28 years. Thank you Cathie for all the work you have put in on South Brent's behalf.
Parish Council: At the closing date for nominations on 9 April, there were only 8 validly nominated candidates for the 12 seats in the two wards of South Brent Parish Council. Those nominated have therefore been duly elected without a contest and as a result there will be no voting for the Parish Council on Election Day.
