Moorcar is a membership rental scheme where you can book a car for an hour or 2, or for a full day.

One car is based in South Brent- very handy for us all.

All of the maintenance, insurance, road tax etc. is covered by Moorcar and so you don’t have the inconveniences of running your own car, or even a second car.

For details and to join see or call Jeremy on 07753325014.

Moorcar is a social enterprise run by its members to make sharing access to cars a realistic alternative to owning ever more private vehicles.

The Kambeng Trust has a Canadian 2 seater canoe available to borrow, in return for a donation for their work in health and education in the Gambia.

South Brent Feoffees:

Grants from South Brent Feoffees are available to support post 18 education for all young residents of South Brent parish.

Grants are not income related but reflect whether the student is studying away from home or living locally and in what year of study the application is made.

Each individual can apply once a year for 3 years whether it is a university course or vocational training.

Our allocation of funds varies according to the number of applications and the amount made available each year by the charity. Application forms are available from The Clerk to the Trustees via Luscombe Maye office in the village or as a PDF document at

The deadline for completion and submission of the form for the academic year 2018/19 is Wednesday 31st October 2018 and applications need to be supported by a letter of authority from the tutor or head of department at the student’s college or university.
